Mostly worked with a pen knife, initial light work with a 60 year old miniature wood carving kit O.o Found it easier to just use the knife after a while.

Somewhere between three and five hours while chatting, trying to watch a movie, then the main work after the tv broke and m'friends went to sleep.

I was truly pleased by him, despite him being an ugly bastard.

That is super awesome! And in four hours, I'm impressed :D I like how you combined cut out parts with sculpting. Do you have any lit up pictures?

He was never really made to be illuminated and we had no candles that night. I did stick my flashlight inside him, but the effect was exceedingly.. pink, yet quite faint. Furthermore the nature of the carving was so.. form-emphasised, there were regions that did glow that shouldn't and should but didn't, as I think you can imagine =)

I am confident I could do another much faster having experimented so successfully! ^_^

I see, sculptures do tend to look weird lit up. I was thinking with the eye looking cut out it would look neat, but I guess not ^-^
