Literature Text

Standing in the shadows,
Mist coiling round my feet,
I draw my hood over my brow,
This night I'll have a treat.

The glowing window beckons to me,
Voices from afar...
Calling out invitingly,
But distant as a star.

This world of interaction,
Smalltalk, chat, and flirts,
For me, held no attraction,
When the crimson liquid spurts.

With every passing morsel,
My appetite, it growls...
My bloodlust demands feeding,
And I pull about my cowl.

Concealing my disfigurement,
The paleness of my skin,
My stomach growling, a lament,
My curse, it makes me sin.

My meal tonight,
Please, no more peasant!
Mistrel, barmaid girl?
No, not another filthy wretch,
The flavour makes me hurl...

Toward the stalker, up there walked,
A call-girl, dressed so lewd...
Be cautious now, my little darling,
Lest you become food.

Upon that neck my eyes were set,
Her hair a shining gold...
Tonight she'll pay her blood-debt,
to the Vampyres of old.
In deepest depression as I've been of late, I felt an urge to write a poem describing some strong feeling of rejection and of being without purpose, another taking my place... It began as such, but my nature irrevocably turned it into a piece of cheap, but perhaps pleasing horror-poetry. You'll see the original elements of the lonely rejection origins in the beginning, and the characters view through the window.

In completion... Nothing special, Nothing graphic... Just a mix of crudity and sophistication from the point of view of a hunter, a nosferatu-type vampire who feasts without mercy and conceals his appearance from humanity.

I dedicate this little bite-fest to my sweet and much loved little blood-suckers, my Vampire Princess Aristar and my Dhampir Rani. *grins wickedly, canines sharp*

I hope you enjoy this simple, quick work. It's nothing special, I'm aware.
